I grew up seeing my grandmother and father decorate our homes time and again, all by themselves; carpentry, plumbing, gardening, home interiors and décor, tailoring, and a lot more. We enjoyed re-arranging and redoing the spaces every now and then. I cannot really recall a time wherein I didn’t enjoy creating and building something or the other. Old curtains became up-cycled tote bags, discarded cane cradles became refurbished center tables, unused sarees became cushion covers and table runners. I enjoy change. I am on a constant hunt for something new, to create, to experience and to learn.
Looking back, the dots are so random and so impossible to connect. 12 schools, 3 countries, Mechanical engineering, Project Management, fashion, photography, building my own brand Colors & Mirrors , styling and a lot more. But amidst these varying set of currents that have pushed and pulled my life so far, there are a few common themes.

Thank you for your interest and time. I love observing people and places. I thrive as I get to experience new perspectives ~ through different lenses, mediums and stories lived by people. I could call my work ~ seductively aesthetic, fluid, and very inspired and driven by nature - water, fire, earth and wind. I love everything real ~ textures, flaws, pigments, scars, details. The beauty in all of it gives me the joy I seek while styling and directing people/visuals. I am a stylist and a creative director based out of Chennai. Food, fashion, products and places ~ I style them all. My name is Charu Rooph(f)a Srikanth ~ a stylist, a design entrepreneur, and a full-time learner currently based out of India.

As a stylist, apart from meeting all the styling needs of Colors & Mirrors, I have been fortunate to work with some stellar actors, artists, brands and makers. I believe styling is about having an eye for spontaneity and a sincere search for clarity. With every project, my effort is to find that underlying meaning while keeping an eye out for the magic that might emerge in any frame at any time. In the moment and about the moment is how I have always wanted my styling to be.
